Dear Frazer and Pamela,

It was great to meet the both of you in person.

It was a pity that Gary was not present at the meeting today.

We hope to meet him soon too.

Thank you so much for listening to us.

We are very glad that you have decided to work together with us.

Rest assured that you are working with one of the best teams in NTU.

We would like to have some time to prepare the deliverables that were mentioned today and we hope to schedule our next meeting with you next Thursday, 4 th of September.

Sincerely,

Jae

Wow, has it really been six months?

Job-hunting season

That's right people, this is the time of the year that people court corporations, and corporations court people. It's a strange sorta feeling, because on one hand, you're relieved that school's finally over and you're about to begin the next stage of your life; on the other hand, it still scares me. You're a fresh grad just once after all.

In other news, I'll be spending 12 weeks with The Business Times as an intern, starting from March 3. Yes, it will be kinda crazy with school and FYP report submission, but I believe it's about how much you want something to happen that will make it work.

This is the third time I applied to the papers. Maybe it's a sign. We'll see; updates as I amble along.

Brit wit rocks

John Cleese is awesomely funny.
Dear Citizens of America,

In view of your failure to elect a competent President and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately.
Her Sovereign Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories (except Kansas, which she does not fancy), as from Monday next...More

A beautiful book

Ok fine, so I'm a little late reading Paulo Coelho's bestseller, The Alchemist. But boy is it a great read. It's references to Islam, Christianity and Buddhism, told in such a simple yet powerful parable is an inspiration to life.

Excerpt pp. 88-89

The camel driver, though, seemed not to be very concerned with the threat of war.

"I'm alive," he said to the boy, as they ate a bunch of dates one night, with no fires and no moon. "When I'm eating, that's all I think about. If I'm on the march, I just concentrate on marching. If I have to fight, it will be just as good a day to die as any other.

"Because I don't live in either my past or my future. I'm interested only in the present. If you can concentrate only on the present, you'll be a happy man. You'll see that there is life in the desert, that there are stars in the heavens, and that tribesmen fight because they are part of the human race. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we're living right now."
Brilliant.
